Ian Meakin is an English barrister and a tenant at XXIV Old Buildings, Geneva and London. Ian has taught at the University of Geneva for many years now and has extensive experience in international commercial arbitration both as counsel and as arbitrator.

Biography:
With his extensive experience in dispute resolution, international business law, including fraud, and trusts and estates, Mr. Meakin has been involved in many major arbitrations such as those of the IPOC. In addition to sitting as an arbitrator, he acts as an advocate in international commercial arbitration as well as before the English courts. Known as an expert in sport law, Mr. Meakin advises and appears in high profile sports arbitrations, including the International Court of the Appeal of the FIA (Formula One) as well as FIFA, CAS and other arbitral tribunals, where he has acted for teams, athletes and drivers, sponsors and sporting federations.
Mr. Meakin graduated from Inns of Court School of Law and King's College and is based in Geneva where he has practiced for the last eighteen years.
