We encourage students to explore all opportunities for financing their studies while in Geneva, either through private means or by seeking financial support in the form of full or partial scholarships. Programme tuition fees and the cost of living in Geneva are detailed here.
For those students who are unable to secure their own sources of funding, the MIDS program may be in a position to offer the generous support of select donors through a limited number of scholarships, for the ten-month period of residency and schooling. To qualify for a scholarship, the following requirements must be met:
| 1) |
|
Students must originate from non-high-income countries according to the UNDP Human Development Index; and |
| 2) |
|
Students must able to prove that they or their parents do not possess the financial means necessary for supporting tuition fees or the cost of living in Geneva; and |
If these two criteria are met, evaluations will be made based on the academic merit of those applying for scholarships in a given year.
We highly recommend that students who wish to apply for a scholarship through the MIDS program explore all other opportunities and demonstrate their outreach efforts in their application file. In addition to local foundations or private donors in their home countries or places of residency, students may also wish to contact the Swiss consulate or embassy in their region to inquire into Swiss government scholarships and other Swiss funding options.
Prospective students are required to indicate whether they will be applying for a scholarship at the same time as they apply for the program, by ticking the appropriate box in the application form and by filling the scholarship application form. Decisions on admission to the program are made based the overall merit of the candidate. Only then are scholarship requests entertained.
