Canonica, Romain - Switzerland

Romain Canonica was born in Geneva where he accomplished his primary and secondary school. In September 2008 he obtained his Bachelor and his Master Law degree at the University of Geneva.

Shortly after having graduated, Romain worked as a volunteer at the Business Humanitarian Forum. His job was oriented mainly toward research in view of enhancing fundraising and he was responsible for helping an important Business-to-Business meeting, held in Sarajevo. He has also co-organised a conference on "Corporate Liability for Human Rights Abuses".

Laws, regulations, policies, settling disputes, defending is not only a professional interest but a passion for Romain. For these reasons, the Master in International Dispute Settlement represents the preferred continuation of his graduate studies after the Law School at the University of Geneva. During his studies, he had the opportunity to follow a course on International Dispute Settlement through which he became interested in this mode of dispute resolution.

Throughout his studies Romain has focused on general matters of Swiss Law but he also developed a strong interest in International Law. He had the opportunity to follow a wide range of international courses, including International Dispute Settlement, Public law as well as International Criminal Law.
