In 2002, after an initial six months at the Federal Polytechnic School, Lausanne, Microtechnics Department, he decided to re-orientate his career choice to study law. He graduated from the University of Geneva in June 2007 with a Bachelor of Laws, followed by a Master of Laws in June 2008.

Very early in his studies, Nicolas was interested in contracts, trade, IP law and international law. Fascinated by internet technology, Nicolas dedicates a significant portion of his time to Intellectual Property research, in particular patents, trademarks and copyright. He created and developed two websites: Lexgva.ch and Acerberos.ch. The first is a student exchange and community platform and the latter is a personal blog where he discusses legal news, issues and court decisions. Both websites enjoy an average of 15'000 visits monthly and LexGva.ch has over 1'050 members from the Swiss universities. Several students from foreign universities have also become members. Nicolas' seminar thesis explored the legal issues of virtual worlds on internet.

In his spare time, Nicolas particularly enjoys classical music, most outdoor sports, piano, cooking, reading, Latino dancing and languages. He is currently learning Japanese.
